Casino La Riviera Completes it's EUR Migration

Canadian online casino customers were left surprised, if not bewildered and very unhappy, by the announcement by La Riviera casino that its Canada database is being migrated to the Euro platform.

This message was sent out a couple of weeks ago to customers and affiliates, and the migration might actually be complete by now. What was rather unusual about this announcement is that the casino and the software provider, Real Time Gaming, otherwise known as RTG, didn't seem to be coordinated as to when this process would be taking place. Apparently, RTG had been doing it already before the casino was ready to announce. This, as you can imagine, only added to the confusion and unhappiness.

There have been a string of negative and somewhat confusing news for Canadian online casino players. In November/December, Moneybookers announced it was exiting the CA market as well Euro Partners. The latter party reversed their position and decided to remain in Canada which left industry insiders scratching their heads. InterCasino, VIP Casino and InterPoker also made similar announcements stating that the group will not accept new registrations or deposits from Canada hence closing down its CAD operations permanently. It's unknown why La Riviera made this decision, but since the brand has a small presence in the country, it can be speculated that supporting a small CAD database no longer made financial sense for the company.

La Riviera Casino provides a three-part welcome bonus package, which includes 100% up to 150 free, followed by a second and third deposit match bonus which amounts to 50% up to 500 free. That is rather unusual among casino, certainly as there is more offered on subsequent deposits than on the initial one.

They are going to deal exclusively in Euros, and accept deposit methods such as the major credit cards (Visa and MasterCard), wire transfers, Neteller, and the EcoCard. They are powered by RTG software, which is perhaps best known in North America as a company that facilitates play from customers who reside in the United States. However, it appears that they no longer will facilitate play for Canadian customers at La Riviera. Well, at least that is the case with the new Canadian customers. Affiliates are being instructed that existing Canadian players will still be viable La Riviera customers.

As such, they will be eligible to earn loyalty points from one of the better programs in the business. They all started out at the "Blue" level, with the opportunity to move up four more tiers, to Bronze, Silver, Gold and then Platinum levels. When they get to the higher levels, they can receive higher deposit bonuses. RTG has a full range of games, including the "Real Series" of online slot offerings that have helped the company build a nice reputation, although jumping the gun on the migration process won't necessarily win them many fans.

For any questions about the migration, the status of Canadian customers, or any problems at all, La Riviera Casino has customer support that is open 24 hours a day. Simply visit their website to find out how to get in contact with them.
